thank god that’s over with. biden didn’t mess it up. no groping. I liked biden. tho I did not hear much of what he or palin said because I was intent on my palin bingo card. but I think he came across as a likable guy, which, at this point, is enough. I dont think this election is going to be close, and that’s an odd feeling, after the last two. I never paid much attention to elections before 2000, so this is really the first one I’ve watched that isn’t close. obama is up by 10 in new hampshire in two separate polls. that means, mccain is gone, gone, gone. I didn’t expect to care much a couple months ago, because my attitude was that either candidate would be an ok enough president, but my estimation of mccain has plummeted during the last couple months, and I no longer think he would be an innocuous republican president. so I’m more eager to see him lose than I expected to be, but at the same time I’m much less uncertain about the outcome than I expected to be. odd to be able to say that a month before the election, but it seems clear that the structural advantages on the dem side are being born out, just in terms of party affiliation nationally. and obama has proven to be way, way more appealing on TV than mccain. mccain just looks awful in interviews and debates, vs. obama. visually and in terms of personality/temperament. any concerns about some segments of the population being racist… that’s overwhelmed by the gap in personal appeal between the two candidates.
