regular times, deep background.

I had an amazing time last night.

with the snoop dog tunes on the way there.

and the show was amazing.  strange trajectory, as I tried to indicate.  kinda sloppy and self-satisfied at first then something happened and it got very good.  I had so much energy when I left.

amazing trip home.   everything worked.  the shuffle was incredible.

a couple weird things on the roadway, coming back…  a car pulled out into traffic from among some cones on the right.   he drove right out of some construction, right in front of me, going probably 40 mph slower than me, and I almost hit him.   then there was an accident that happened probably 2-3 miles ahead of me.  some cops zoomed around me and disappeared up ahead.   when I caught up to them, they were tending to someone who slammed into a barrier, and they were blocking 3 out of 4 lanes (or whatever), so I had to stop behind them with a few other cars and then wait to get into the far right lane, one at a time.  odd scenes in the late night.

and when I got home it was only about 12:15.

I liked the rams head.  lots of bars and bathrooms.  good sound.  probably comparable to 9:30 club in size, but more of a radial layout, with more hiding places.  it was packed.  the iron & wine guy made jokes about it.  he peered around and said “whoa, there are a lot of people here.”

at one point late in the show someone standing near me shouted out “baltimore!” He was overcome by a sudden spasm of baltimore pride.  for all its positives, I don’t think you hear someone shout out “washington dc!” at a show in dc.  perhaps I’ll try it sometime.
