creaturedom
Sep 05, 2010 @ 12:01 pm

via jon lee’s blog I found the Dinner Party site with this “viable creature” video. the video has me thinking about genre self-parody, as this seems like performance art parodying itself. I thought the video was funny and, judging from the audio, the live audience seemed to respond that way.

it also has me thinking about creaturedom generally. there is something about creaturedom that maybe comprehends (and excuses and celebrates) our behaviors better than humanity or animality does.

all of this has me staying indoors longer than I expected today, but that’s ok. there’s time. I’m going to go out there.

the Dinner Party blog says they will be at atlas theatre (a few blocks from here) “for a monthly performance on Thursdays at 8pm from August to February.” if we go by the gregorian calendar, which includes 4-5 thursdays per month, then it’s not clear what this means.

hint: the Dinner Party is apparently one of those intentional misnomers that art troupes are so fond of. ya know, no dinner served + not a party. except in jon’s case there was dinner.
