there is only so much I can do to intentionally blog here in my stretching room.  I will never complain again.  I like the white rug, a possession.  there are hunters in africa who run in their bare feet and fear elephants.  here I don’t feel like I have too much decor, it is nice to feel underfoot different things.  positions the weight down into the wool vector.  drink from glass and ceramics.  pace around and start to consider … I don’t know yet, I thought bodies then imagination then time then forgetfulness.  the key word in forgetfulness is etfuln.  it stands for considEr The Future Uv Los N.

  1. I found that Murry’s review

“Don’t worry, when they tear this place down for the new Whole Foods the rents will go up by 400% and all the real residents who can’t afford to spend $9 a pound of “organic free range chicken” will move away, leaving a small army of fresh faced recent college grads and 30 something non-profit workers with Masters degrees who care about the environment and their cholesterol levels to safely repopulate the streets of H Street again.

But seriously, Murrys does have a small produce section with prices that rival an Asian market (and ethnic markets are in with aspiring and actual hipsters, right?) True, more often the produce is already rotting before you put it in your basket, but at least you have the option. Almost expired Little Debbie cakes are 2 for 1. All you can drink off-brand soda and Tampico juice for pennies on the dollar. And yes, plastic tubs of microwaveable chitlins to fill your home with a warm, unmistakeable aroma.

Seriously, this place is meant to be an EBT haven for H Street residents to stock up cheaply on food items (okay “food” is a stretch) that will 1) keep for a long (loooong) time and 2) make a lot of meals cheaply to feed a family.

If you don’t fit this demographic (most Yelpers don’t) you just won’t get the utility of a store like this.

Though, right before the next big snow storm and you desperately need sources of non contaminated fluids and shelf-stable calories, you’ll glad this place is open.

RIP Murry’s. The first food desert I almost loved.”
