wow, this porter is making me love everyone. I don’t usually like porter but this anchor porter suits me at present. sweet and heavy. druglike. and so it is that I love everyone. I am halfway thru my first glass. maybe it’s not so much that I love everyone, but rather that I am only thinking about people I love and am loving them more than usual. I’m curious to see how much I will love people when I’m done with the whole glass. we’ll see. meantime I’m going to put some emotional music on really. because of the internet there are more ways to dislike people faster. not you. it’s chilly out. I’m a businessman now. when people ask me what I do or am, I’m going to say “a businessman.” I think that’s funny. Filed under: Uncategorized Comments: 4 Comments |

last night was the reading to launch the cathy book and magus book. people came here afterwards. I had small children in my apartment for, I think, the first time ever. magus’ kids.
* * * tree planting was more witnessing than work. there were too many people there. I did get to swing the pick axe a bit. the whole thing was odd in several ways. right by the water in southwest. 100 feet from a pier. on the grounds of a large co-op complex, no doubt expensive. why were volunteers doing their landscaping? b/c there is apparently no short-term profit motive for augmenting the existing canopy on their own, and they have the land. some owners participated. I arrived and stood around with others. then they put us in teams. then we dug holes and planted trees. my team planted two. the first one was a slow dig. hard ground with lots of big rocks in it. though it would have gone faster if we had a team of three rather than eight. I was probably there for 2 1/2 hours and did 1/2 hour of work. lots of old folks. Filed under: Uncategorized Comments: If you say so |

in the beginning was behavior, and the word was that behavior. the stew namespace has merit. it points to something different than soup. it’s like gender. you know there’s a difference but have never been satisfied by any attempt to define it. now that I have stew, I instructed my only visible misuses. we only say we have branded methods like tivo. the unanimity is nearly anonymous. and soup is pretentious. stew is basically a recursive conceptual shit storm. It ascribes its in-name-only phenomena (gravity) to objects they don’t border (lamps on a set). Filed under: Uncategorized Comments: If you say so |

I will cook some brown rice. I couldnt find any okra at the store. maybe it’s in cans. very spacy. up late last night. plant trees tomorrow morning. little party tonight. no big thing. more like a soiree. just me. that’s my electoral college prediction. depressed mccain supporters will stay home. obama will win all the states that are currently considered toss-up states. georgia will go to mccain, but barely. south dakota will go to obama. Filed under: Uncategorized Comments: 1 Comment |

I had dinner at cathy and ken’s new apartment last night. it’s much better than the old cathy apartment, which I despised. ken is reiki. they lost my shirt. I asked cathy how old is the oldest poem in her edge book. 5 years old. that means she was 34 when she wrote it. and I just turned 34 in Sept, which means I only have to write one poem 10 months from now to keep up with cathy. we had stew, chocolate tea and chocolate. I miss that stew. okra, sweet potatoes, nuts, coconut milk, cayenne, ginger, rice. I’m volunteering again on saturday. I’m going to plant trees from 9 to noon.
