rampant options
Apr 30, 2010 @ 7:24 pm

I’ve had a couple brief exchanges in the last two days with the neighbor that did the porch roof. chilly relations we now have. I handed him his saw over the back fence. he is the neighbor to the rear. he had left his saw. I’m glad I decided not to converse with him about the roof inadequacies. he knows I wasn’t happy. it’s conceivable that he might even be a little annoyed with me for not appreciating the work. he may think the work was adequate or even good. possible. we won’t talk about it.

still love the neighbors to the sides. tho I can’t remember the woman’s name on one side. it starts with a C or K. I remember her husband’s name.

I finished the picnic table. except for applying the sealer. will wait on that, so it’s not sticky tomorrow. I got another grill. yes I now have three. one is a little one that sits on the ground. it’s fine that I have three. makes perfect sense.

O'S-YANKEES ENDS IN TIE
Apr 28, 2010 @ 11:18 pm

The Orioles and Yankees, probably the two hottest teams in baseball right now, fought to an 8-3 tie today in front of a dwindling Camden Yards crowd.

The bitterly contested 46-inning marathon was called a stalemate due to confusion resulting from the length of the game.

“Baltimore played us about even today,” said Yankee Manager Joe Girardi in a dugout interview following the 42nd inning. “I hear it was a tie.”

Girardi would later be arrested for publicly urinating during a trip to the mound.

annual report. barely impossible
Apr 28, 2010 @ 11:01 pm
  • I guess life.
  • today was a grandiose day in the history of the business.   after months of relative potato famine, I had three possible large things develop in one day.  I don’t mean the calathea,  phalaenopsis and variegated hedera helix. I don’t mean something shitlike either. I realize that “potato famine” may have given that impression. I was actually talking about business. not that business.
  • one would think that one or more of the three will become paying work.
  • “borgeois christian civilization” says the song from the mp3 player.
  • spellcheck thinks borgeois is a mistake and puts a squiggly red line beneath it.  it would be nice to be able to pass those squiggly underlines to the output. I’m actually not sure how those lines are done.
  • the rolling stones are by far the most successful rock band today. by today I mean April 28, 2010.
  • expecting a good crowd this saturday, and weather forecast is quite solid. warm even.
  • I have just the medium-sized grill and small one. I’m not sure that’s enough. silly as it seems to own three charcoal grills, I may get another. I can’t see asking someone to bring over a grill every time I want to invite more than a few people over. no doubt we could subsist on the output from two. yeah that’s probably enough. this calculation is impossible in 6 different dimensions. tho barely impossible.

O'S CRUSH YANKS
Apr 28, 2010 @ 6:45 pm

O’s slaughter Yanks, 5-4. In a 5-4 drubbing of the Yanks, the O’s virtually guarantee not being swept in the series. This punishing 5-4 demolition of the once-proud Yankee franchise has Yankee fans everywhere whimpering in the dark. After a demoralizing 5-4 laugher, infighting is sure to follow in a quickly unraveling Yankee season. En route to a 5-4 whipping of the Yankees, the O’s amassed run after run while the Yanks eeked out only 4, not enough to save face on a day when their staff surrendered a mind-bending 5 runs to the resurgent Orioles. The unsightly 5-4 skewering of the Yankees, at the skewer-wielding hands of the Orioles, has existential ramifications for the entire state of New York and probably every other state starting with New.

if hec/tor does good, it will take all my pain away.
I just called him to get references. he sounds relaxed, like a non-hustler. he’ll call me back when he has his address book in hand. I think, I think, I think he’s legit.

last night I started playing with some color visualization software that lets me virtually paint the facade, so I can see what the colors look like. color varies a little for each monitor but it’s better than nothing. I also took some before pictures.

I have a little trouble with eagerness. I am a bit eager to get things done.
