so it is that my scooter was included in the photo of my friend’s scooter photo radar ticket, but he got a radar ticket and I did not.

clamor

I had a look at the new book from rome. it extants. it seems to know things, like dreams seem to. unharmed by being known. my life is already better. I tend to like things like texts.

cubist left arm strike zone guy
Jun 13, 2010 @ 2:00 pm

a lot of weeding today out front. it’s quite hot but there is a breeze at times. I’m sweaty.

it’s good not having anything else to do today. and strange. it’s strange not having to do anything else.

look at this guy’s cubist left arm:

earlier today I read a whole article about a bad divorce. I’m definitely not suggesting you should also read it, but if you wanted to you could.

cleanth
Jun 12, 2010 @ 5:39 pm

I cleaned. I did clean. Cleanth.

It’s clean in here. Mostly. The kitchen is thoroughly clean. The bathtub has no yellow stuff. I walk around and behold the cleanth.

I’m going to an all-strawberries meal soon. I’m bringing the strawberry iced cream.

still there is some lingering paranoia about whether I actually got the co/ntract I seemed to get last week. they didn’t get back to me friday with the final ok but that’s just because they’re a non-profit and people at non-profits don’t necessarily work on fridays in the summer in DC. just paranoia it’s ok.

some yellowish stuff has formed around the tub. I want you to know that I’m aware of the problem and have begun taking steps to address it.

1000 years of Stephen Strasburg
Jun 09, 2010 @ 10:42 am

I read that officials in Strasburg, Va, have rejected an initiative to temporarily rename their town Stephen Strasburg. Just as well. It would be an insult to the great Stephen Strasburg to have a mere town named after him. It would be damning with faint praise.

More appropriate to temporarily rename the planet or galaxy after Stephen Strasburg. For 1000 years. The Stephen Strasburg millennium. He struck out 14 and walked none in his first major league start, so it’s well deserved.

I think he should retire now, so he can enter the Hall of Fame at age 26, assuming there is no movement to wave the rule that says you have to wait 5 years after retirement. Also, mandatory offseason training activities start soon in the NFL, so he should probably now turn his attention to learning the subtleties of the quarterback position.

and then oddly I do develop some interest in hearing music.

NBA players, in our communities, planting trees and speaking to youths. I know it well. I can remember picnics with kareem abdul jabbar. finger painting with charles barkley at camp. chinese checkers at the local library with latrell sprewell. ah. those were the moments that made my youth the enchanted NBA-themed experience that it was. never forget the time john stockton rolled up and took me and all my friends to paint a very small part of a school for ten minutes. so random it sometimes seemed.

reminiscing about my life
Jun 08, 2010 @ 6:43 pm

yeah, that was a Heck of a weekend. I don’t have many weekends like that. it was like a road trip, but I never left the DC. or at least didn’t get far from it at any point. my old dude friends were here, overnight friday and saturday. we were all very gross, more gross than I can ungrossly explain. our discourse was incredibly base throughout. sub-base. barely dangling from the least and most diseased root hairs below the underworld, where the abyss begins. if I do say so.

their endurance has always defied my understanding. I would get to around 9 p.m. and need a spot of alone time, having debauched since 10 a.m. And thus I would return to my home, for a breather, or for the rest of the night. they seemed to think this innocuously odd, but they know from longtimes that I do retreat after a point. I stop being accessible to humans. they would remain with the people of the scooter rally past the point where I could handle being around people any longer. it’s funny tho. in hindsight I wonder why didn’t I just linger and see what would happen. but the humidity isn’t in real time during my hindsight. the humidity was really nasty. I want to say raunchy. it was one of those mid-80s to low 90s weekend where the temperature doesn’t really matter at all because it is so goddamn humid. it could have been 60 degrees out and it still would have been awful. good times tho when the scooter moves. the weather was fine when the scooter moves. yeah it wasn’t the humidy that was the problem but the lack of air movement at times, when we weren’t riding. every once in a while, a breeze, then it was ok for a few seconds. I miss it all, of course. I want to live until I’m 70K years old. in fact I’m going to have a party now. hold-on. but abt arnold. we’re doing so-so. right now good tho.

plants: 3 out of 4 tomato plants are doing EXTREMELY well. they look like world beaters. the fourth is lagging. the bean stalks are reaching up the strings. 3+ feet high. the pea plants need something to climb. I will set that up soon. two strong watermellon plants. unfortunately the weeds are also doing well. the jap knotweed, menace. everywhere. unstoppable. it is going to ruin a lot of my hard work re: landscaping. and/or I’ll have to use chems, soon. and in front another weed more grass-like but also troublesome. probably can be dealt with tho.

tomorrow a meeting with a prospective new klient. they approved my bid. no contract yet, but that should come in a day or two, I believe. in a way, I don’t believe. I’m pessimistic, but this is pretty much a bird in hand. and, thus, I will be once again a good income earner, as I have not been since several months ago. strange days.
